Story Highlights
------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------
1. Sprint Cuts LightSquared's Rope
------------------------------------------------------------
Sprint has canceled the 15-year agreement it inked with LightSquared
last July to build out and license a 4G network. LightSquared was to
have used this network, together with its own infrastructure, to launch
its service. The agreement would have been beneficial to Sprint as well,
as it had hoped to use LightSquared's network to relieve its own
spectrum shortage.

2. Apple Shares the Wealth
------------------------------------------------------------
Apple will soon resume paying dividends to its shareholders, a practice
it abandoned years ago. The company will begin paying a quarterly
dividend of $2.65 per share in Q4 fiscal 2012, which begins July 1.
Apple will also buy back $10 billion worth of shares over three years
starting fiscal 2013, which begins Sept. 30.

3. The Software Distribution Generation Gap
------------------------------------------------------------
There's a huge productivity gap between modern software and the aging
manner in which most enterprises still distribute and manage
applications on personal computers. At a time when business models and
whole industries are being upended by improved use of software, IT
providers inside of enterprises are still painstakingly provisioning and
maintaining PC applications in much the same way they did in the 1990s.

4. Partnership to Align Phone System Data With CRM
------------------------------------------------------------
M5 Networks has partnered with InsightSquared to create a solution that
will allow customers to manage data generated from M5, along with data
from other systems, in InsightSquared's business intelligence product.
The solution will help customers manage data from their business phone
system and other applications in one interface, and to visualize trends
in voice and data to understand the "why" of spikes and valleys in
activity.

5. Is It Wrong to Make a Profit From FOSS?
------------------------------------------------------------
There's just never a dull moment here in the Linux blogosphere, whether
there's big news being made at the moment or not. Some weeks, we have
wild activity. Even in other weeks, though, where the news days might
seem slower, there's never a shortage of things to talk about. Case in
point? Just last Monday, when all the Linux world was still waking up
from the weekend, a lone voice rang out with the question, "is open
source anti-profit?"

6. Shepherding Content to a New E-Commerce Platform
------------------------------------------------------------
Following a stellar 2011 holiday season, and with U.S. retail sales
having exceeded expectations in February, etailers have many reasons for
optimism in 2012 and beyond. By any measure, e-commerce will continue to
grow -- Goldman Sachs most recently predicted that global retail Web
sales will reach nearly $1 trillion by 2013.
